I Believe I'm In Love With You - Bonnie Raitt

I don't know what's wrong with me
I've been foolish as a fool can be
Baby, I can't sleep at night
And I lost my appetite
Went to the doctor but he don't know
It's getting to where it ain't funny no more
Tell me baby what I might gonna do
I believe I'm in love with you
I believe I'm in love with you
Tell me baby that you love me, too
I can't fight, baby I decided
I'm in love with you
I guess this time I realize
For you baby I got eyes
Come on baby and give me a chance
All I need is your romance
You're the one I've been trying to find
Baby, baby you're just my kind
I'm telling you baby I'll be true
I believe I'm in love with you
I believe I'm in love with you
Tell me baby that you love me, too
I can't fight, baby I decided
I'm in love with you
I guess this time I realize
For you baby I got eyes
Come on baby and give me a chance
All I need is your romance
You know what I'm tryin' to fight
And I'm telling you, you're just my kind
I'm telling you, baby I'll be true
I believe I'm in love with you
I believe I'm in love with you
Tell me baby that you love me, too
I can't fight, baby I decided
I'm in love with you

I Can't Make You Love Me

WAITING FOR PERFECT
If dreamt
then is it
The note was low
the tempo slow
If wanted
then will it be
The light was red
the game led
If desired
then does it measure
The talk jazzed
the conversation halved
If accepted
then is it perfect

EYES OPEN

Proceeding
to misssteps

Looking
to begin

Hoping
to connection

Expressing
to truth

Longing
to hear

Wanting
to touch

Proceeding
to misssteps

Looking
to continue

Hoping
to bond

Expressing
to undo

Longing
to no end

Wanting
to see

Shenandoah National Park Hike - June 16, 2018

Our hike leader, Jeff, orienting us to our day.

Saturday, we enjoyed Shenandoah's more natural glories by hiking between (and to the top of) the only two peaks above 4000 feet in the entire Park. Temperatures at such exalted heights were excellent in the 70s, 10-15 degrees cooler than down in the sweltering flatlands. Plus, we enjoyed one spectacular overlook after another along the way. We started with the climb from Skyline Drive to the top of Hawksbill (4050 feet).  Then we bumped along the Appalachian Trail to Stony Man (4010 feet). Total length of this moderate-to-strenuous one-way hike was 8 miles, with about 1400 feet of cumulative elevation gain.

The highest point in Shenandoah National Park

The Mountain Laurel hike was cancelled due to storms, but today, we did see blooming laurel.

Barbra Streisand - Come Rain or Come Shine with John Mayer

An Evening In Washington DC

A great evening in Washington DC with a friend. We first went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the paintings of President and Mrs. Obama. In the gallery of the President portraits, I thought the one of President Kennedy very beautiful. We then went to The Dirty Habit and had drinks and a delicious meal. It was fun enjoying the summer evening in the outdoor courtyard before dinner. Of course the highlight of the evening was "Camelot" at the Shakespeare Theatre. The role of Lancelot du Lac is played by Nick Fitzer, an Indiana University alum. If you are in DC, it is worth seeing.

Amber Run - I Found Love

I'll use you
as a warning sign
if you talk enough sense
then you'll lose your mind

I'll use you as a focal point
so I don't lose sight
of what I want

I've moved further
than I thought I could
But I miss you
more than I thought I would

I'll use you
as a warning sign
that if you talk enough sense
then you'll lose your mind

I found love
where it wasn't suppose to be
right in front of me
talk some sense to me

I'll use you
as a makeshift gauge
of how much to give
and how much to take

I'll use you
as a warning sign
that if you talk enough sense
then you'll lose your mind

I found love
where it wasn't suppose to be
right in front of me
talk some sense to me

Mystery of Love - Sufjan Stevens

Lyrics: Oh, to see without my eyes The first time that you kissed me Boundless by the time I cried I built your walls around me White noise, what an awful sound Fumbling by Rogue River Feel my feet above the ground Hand of God, deliver me [Chorus] Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me The first time that you touched me Oh, will wonders ever cease? Blessed be the mystery of love Lord, I no longer believe Drowned in living waters Cursed by the love that I received From my brother's daughter Like Hephaestion, who died Alexander's lover Now my riverbed has dried Shall I find no other? [Chorus] Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me I'm running like a plover Now I'm prone to misery The birthmark on your shoulder reminds me How much sorrow can I take? Blackbird on my shoulder And what difference does it make When this love is over? Shall I sleep within your bed River of unhappiness Hold your hands upon my head Till I breathe my last breath [Chorus] Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me The last time that you touched me Oh, will wonders ever cease? Blessed be the mystery of love

Sara Bareilles "Gravity"

Sara is one of my favorite singer/song writers.  "I Choose You" is my ringtone.  This song has haunted me for the past 3 years ---- now, even more than before.
